Accessibility Statement

Declaration on Accessibility

We are committed to making our website accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services (Accessibility Act – BaFG).

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.leo-hillinger.com.

Status of compliance with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA conformance requirements. Extensive measures have been taken to improve accessibility for all users; however, some barriers currently remain, which we describe in more detail below.

Non-accessible content

The following content and elements are not fully accessible for the reasons listed:

  1. Identical link text with different destinations
In certain areas of the website (e.g., post overviews), identical link texts such as “Read more” are used repeatedly, leading to different target pages. This structure results from the automated output of posts in grid or list views. Since the links are embedded in a contextual framework (e.g., title, image, or description of the respective post), orientation for users remains intact. The WCAG recommendation for distinguishing link texts is therefore consciously balanced against the design approach.

  2. Missing semantic list structure in the product grid
For design reasons, the product overview is implemented using flexible containers rather than a <ul>/<li> list structure. However, all products are clearly identified and provided with alt text and meaningful roles. Navigation via keyboard and screen reader remains fully possible.

  3. Stripe payment form (checkout area)
During the payment process, we use the Stripe Unified Payment Experience module.
The corresponding form is dynamically embedded by Stripe and uses an HTML <fieldset> element that, according to WCAG guidelines, would require a descriptive <legend>.
As we have no direct influence over the technical implementation of this third-party component, this area is currently not fully accessible. We are in contact with the provider and actively monitoring potential improvements in future updates.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 17 June 2025 and is based on a self-assessment as well as the use of automated testing tools (e.g., Google Lighthouse, WAVE, WCAG Validator).
