Wine experiences at the HILL

In 2004, Leo Hillinger fulfilled his dream of owning a modern wine estate. The place for this was not chosen at random. From here, one can see everything that makes his wines unique: the Leithagebirge, Neusiedler See and the distant plain in which the lake seems to disappear. In the winery, wine is not only vinified. The wine is also lived here – in the cellar that was built into the hillside, and in the rooms above it. Leo Hillinger and his team are happy to provide insights into this world of wine. With guided tours, tastings or excursions to the vineyards. On and around the HILL everything revolves around the wine: joie de vivre, the pleasurable and the particular.

Take a look behind the scenes and make your way into the sacred space of winemaking – the cellar. Daily guided tours, tastings and individually designed gourmet packages provide insights into the world of winemaking and tasting.

get a whiff of cellar air and take a look at one of the largest winegrowing operations in Austria’s elite class.

The HILL presentation and tasting offers an individually bookable package, which can be optionally expanded to include culinary delicacies. After a guided tour of the winery, a tasting will be given overlooking the vineyards.

Confluence
of the senses

At the HILL beginner’s wine seminar ‘Confluence of the senses’ you can immerse yourself in the sensual realm of wine. Because wine appeals to many senses – the eye, the nose and the palate. This introductory seminar provides initial and basic insight into the world of wine.

Trained sommeliers will provide you with information about the world of winemaking and tasting. You will learn how to put your sensory impressions into language and describe wines in your own words.
Duration: about 3 hours

Number of participants: seminar for a minimum 8 persons and only by appointment.

Picnic
in the vineyard

A picnic outside in the vineyards. Your basket is already packed with many delicacies and is ready to pick up at Weingut HILLINGER. The out-of-doors culinary treat can optionally be combined with a cellar tour.

A basket full of local products (sausage, cheese, spread, bread, vegetables, fruits, chocolate…), 1 bottle of mineral water, 1 bottle of wine (Small Hill white, red or rosé)

HILL picnic & more

To combine the pleasurable with the fascinating. After a glass of HILL Secco, we will share insight into the winegrowing business with you as we taste selected wines.

For the grand finale, a sumptuously-stocked HILL picnic basket is ready for you. What you still have to do now, is to find the right place out in the open, and to enjoy the bounty and landscape of Burgenland to the fullest.

HILL Heli
Tasting

An exceptional opportunity to visit Weingut HILLINGER for a tasting: The HILL Heli tasting will take you exclusively from Bad Vöslau to Jois. After a guided tour through the cellars and vineyards, you will get to sample selected wines accompanied by a winegrowers’ snack, before heading back to Bad Vöslau by a helicopter.
