The top-class event 2007 will invite members of the FALSTAFF VIPGOURMETclub* to selected tastings, diners, readings and thematic evenings ten times a year. On the occasion of the brilliant kick-off for these monthly “get-togethers,” top-vintner Leo Hillinger invited guests to a tasting of his new white wines of the 2006 as well as various other vintages and a barrel sample 2006 of his top product Hill 1. To round the evening off PURISTE Premium Vodka Nr.1 was served – a joined creation by Leo Hillinger and top vintner Alois Kracher.

“The vintage 2006 is the best I have ever made,” host Leo Hillinger is pleased. “1997, 2002, 2003 were indeed great vintages with regard to red wine but the last harvest will produce top products for both red and white wines. The mixture of sun and water supply was ideal. It is a particular pleasure to me to present this special vintage in this ambience.”

Initiator Wolfgang Rosam too was very pleased about the successful start of his series of events: “Leo Hillinger was the logical kick-off: The VIPGOURMETclub* revolutionizes restaurant reviews, Leo Hillinger is a revolutionist of wine-growing. An ideal connection.”

With an overall cultivation area of 125 hectare, Leo Hillinger ranks among Austria’s top vintners in the high-quality segment; since last year he also cultivates vineyards in Hungary. More than 50 percent of the total production is exported to 16 countries overall, with a strongly increasing tendency. The Hillinger winery is family-owned.
